Bounce U was a great place for the girls to celebrate the end of cookies! They wore themselves out bouncing and climbing and sliding. After running out their energy for over an hour the girls had a pizza/soda party and collected their pizza party patch. Asked if selling the cookies had been worth it..the girls responded with an ohhhhhhh yessss and big smiles.

NHL Coyotes Night

Well the girls going to their first NHL Hockey Game had a BLAST. They loved cheering on their team. Learned a little about hockey (Lindsey didnt like the other team winning on SOG-Shots on Goal) They enjoyed their hot dog/ sodas and loved getting to join the kids club where they got a Teddy Bear, Hat and Backpack. The kids all loved trying to shoot the puck into the goal after the game and being down "on the ice". Even though the team lost the girls all agreed that if they could go again they would!

Official Meeting-Feb 5th, 2009

Wow this was an advent packed night since we had some Junior Girl Scouts start for the first time. The troop welcomed Faithe who is the first Junior Girl Scout we have enrolled. Savanna and Rebecca have also joined as Juniors but were unable to attend tonight. The Brownie girls started working on their Girl Scouts Around the World Try-It and the Juniors started working on their Cookies Count Badge. The Brownies worked on a puzzle about what Girl Scouts are called around the world. They also got their first homework! They have to find out two things about three different countries. The juniors thought about places they could sell cookies.

They also had a Valentine's Day party and passed out Valentines to each other and decorated heart shaped cookies. They also made Valentines for their favorite Fire Station 213 and earned a Valentines Day Patch.

The girls also turned in their pre-orders and 6 of them for over 140 boxes of cookies each! Way to go Mikaila, Tessa, Alyssa, Lindsey, Lauren and Angela! They earned special water bottles!

Official Meeting Jan 22nd
The girls finished working on their cookies count try-it. They set up a pretend cookie booth and with the help of the parents practiced their selling techniques. They also got to taste the new Dulche de Leche Carmel Cookies. They wrote a few thank you cards for people who bought cookies from them. We had a Jen-Kem-Po tournament and Katia won. We also played the blanket game. The girls have turned in their pre-order forms for over 1000 boxes of cookies. Hopefully once they have the cookies they will go through them pretty fast. Everyone had fun selling the cookies and cant wait till they get their cookies.

Girls attending Third Meeting: Tessa, Mikaila, Shelby, Lauren, Alyssa, Lindsey, Tia & Angela.
Fire Station 213 Visit

Mikaila, Tessa, Alyssa, Lindsey & Nicole all got to go through the Fire Station 213 and learn all about daily life at the Station. They learned about how the fireman work only 10 days a month but while they are working have to "live" at the station. They got to see their home away from home. They learned that fireman have 20-30 seconds from the time the alarm goes off till the truck is pulling out of the station---even if they were sound asleep when the alarm goes off! The girls could not imagine getting up, getting dressed and out the door that fast. The fireman let the girls "pretend" to be asleep on their recliners in the front room when an alarm went off and they had to "wake up" run down the hallway and jump into the truck and shut the door. The girls were able to do this in 23 seconds--Not bad at all :)

They also let the girls explore every part of the fire engine and ask one hundred million questions, which they answered each and every one! The girls got to pick up, touch, try all the equipment including, hoses, helmets, oxygen tanks etc. They could barely hold each one and could only imagine how strong the firemen have to be in order to lift all of the items at once while also wearing heavy uniforms/jackets/boots. The girls were especially impressed with the window crank on the fire engine and each had to have a turn "rolling up and rolling down the window"

The girls learned all about how the fireman have to be ready to not only fight fire but also rescue lost people, and administer medical aide since they are often the first ones to respond to a call. The girls learned that not only will they have to be smart and get good grades but they also have to be fast and strong!

During the outing the girls decided they wanted the firemen to be their Gift of Caring and will be donating boxes of cookies to the Fire Station to thank the firemen for being their "home town hero's"

Tessa's favorite part of the trip: How long it took us to get to the truck (timed test)

Mikaila's favorite part of the trip: Getting timed during the test

Alyssa's favorite part of the trip: Holding the hose!

Lindsey's favorite part of the trip: Going inside their House and Truck

Well the girls were SO excited to get to go to the rally. Katia, Angela, LeeAnn, Alyssa, Tessa, Mikaila, Lauren, Lindsey, Nicole and Shelby all came. It was the first outing that all ten girls came along. Getting there a few minutes early the girls were excited and got to run off some energy playing on the stairs in front of the High School. They were eager to try the new cookies and get their order forms. They got to make new goals, go over cookie selling rules, play cookie bingo with candy (yum), tasted thin mints & trefoils, and made a Valentine mat for a special breakfast.
